Incl. index.  Gilt lettering and designs on orange-red cloth covers. Illustrated throughout with several hundred b&w photos. The title sounds like Steinback or Faulkner, but this is factual, worthwhile, historical reading, and quite an adventure, considering the wealth of material about the early pathfinders; Indian fighters, and settlers, many of whom died in the attempt. No marks, stains, names, etc. Text and interior are very good to fine condition throughout. $45
